You can refer yourself by completing the downloadable referral form here, by filling in our secure online referral form here, or by phoning the office nearest you.
GP's and other professionals can refer directly to us, however we prefer the person who is drinking to make the referral themselves. This assists us in assessing the individual need of each user of the service, and also is the start of the treatment process.
Why don't we encourage 3rd party referrals ? we have found that there is a better attendance rate with service users who refer themselves. There are many concerned others who want another individual to stop drinking, but that person may not be motivated to change. Even when trying to help someone else it is very important that we talk to the drinker at the early stages to explain the process and available options.
We are always willing to discuss options available with concerned others, and they are an important of any treatment plan.
We also ask service user to attend sober, but we do appreciate for some, this may be difficult to achieve. |
